Cherry Season in Gilgit Baltistan




In terms of flavor, Gilgit Baltistan cherries are the finest. Even though the season lasts just a few months, these farm-fresh and luscious cherries are definitely a treat for the senses. Because it is only available for two to three months out of the year, it's a good idea to save some in your refrigerator for use in Cherry Milkshakes or even handmade ice creams in the future.

 Depending on its kind, a fresh cherry will either be red or deeper red in hue. If it has brownish spots on its skin, it is not going to be healthy. Cherry's vibrant color is one of the most important indicators of its freshness. Unless you plan on eating them right away, save the washing until later.

Cherry freshness may be maintained by storing them in a cool environment. As a perishable item, they will soon lose their freshness if not refrigerated. You may store cherries in zip-lock bags or airtight containers for later consumption. Remove any air from the bags or containers before you seal them up for storage.

 To begin, store cherries in a cool, dark area like your refrigerator, and only wash them when you're ready to eat them. At 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, cherries should be kept refrigerated. As for washing, avoid using hot water since this is a delicate fruit that requires extra care. They may be punctured with a simple handshake.
