It has been stated that Gilgit-Special Baltistan's Communication Organization (SCO) would begin providing 3G and 4G mobile internet services before the end of the year. Just two months from now, the federal government will provide approval for 3G and 4G internet services in this region. More than 80 percent of the region's infrastructure upgrade work has been finished, and the remaining 20 percent is moving along at a good clip. Even in this day and age of high-speed internet, it's shocking to learn that much of Gilgit-Baltistan, a significant portion of Pakistan, lacks access to 3G or 4G networks. There are many issues about the educational future of youngsters in the neighborhood that are raised by this report. Children's futures are jeopardized because of their lack of access to the internet, which is now a basic requirement for both school and employment. Three and four-gigabit internet services are now available in major Pakistani cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
However, there are still certain issues with sims-based internet services. Nonetheless, the situation in Gilgit-Baltistan is a far cry from what it is in Pakistan. Gilgit-Baltistan may look forward to a brighter future with the government's promise of 3G and 4G internet connectivity by the end of 2016. More people in Gilgit-Baltistan will be interested in having access to the most technical means of communication through cellular internet if 3G/4G services are introduced. This would quickly expand the use of smartphones in the province. People are also getting the majority of their information on the ongoing COVID19 epidemic by using the internet. It is possible that individuals in AJK-GB may not benefit completely from the WhatsApp Helpline and application created by the Pakistani government because of the lack of data services in that area. Students and those who work from home have both been impacted by COVID19.
Universities have been compelled by HEC to provide online classes for
students. Northern students are particularly hard-hit, as there are no
dependable data services in such regions. People are finding it difficult to
keep up with their coworkers and bosses now that many organizations are moving
to remote working arrangements due to a lack of broadband availability. The
government should adopt some significant and long-lasting measures to ensure
that all Pakistanis may profit from digital services not just during this
epidemic but in the future. Telecommunications are essential in today's world
and we need to bridge this gap by speeding up mobile data in this location,
considering the misery of the local people. As a result, these regions will be
better equipped to take advantage of new opportunities for growth.
