beliefs and music. Same like that our mother land Gilgit Baltistan has a unique
colourful and sound music which is just beyond feelings. The singers, musicians
and artist are not such trained in training centers they have super talent to
do so.
Hareep Is Traditional Music Of Gilgit-Baltistan:
The folk music and instruments commonly used in
Gilgit Baltistan are Dadang (drum), Damal (percussion), Suranaye (a kind of
flute), Duff (a circle framed drum), Ghajak (spiked fiddle), Gabi (flute),
Sitar and Rubab are popular and important instruments.The famous types of
musical tunes in Gilgit Baltistan are Dhani, Galawar, Alghani, Saus, Lolo,
Tambal, Bulla, Razm, Yudaani and Danyal etc. Each of these tunes is associated
with a special occasion' such as when initiate any ceremony, Galawar is played.
Sir Jan Ali Jan is also known as Babaye Hareep (father of hareep), Babaye
Mosique (father of music) of Gilgit Baltistan.
Giligit Baltistan is generally divided into seven places each
place has slightly different music but instruments and way of performing is
same. Gilgit Baltistan is most diverse place where almost above sixteen
languages are spoken and having different poetry, dances and music.The major
languages are Shina, Brushaski, Khowar , Balti and Wakhi.
